04-25-2010 Telugu Association 2010 ‘Ugadi’ Picnic: April 25, 2010 at Roosevelt Park, MS It was a fun picnic day on April 25th 2010 at the ‘Group Camp Site’ organized by Telugu(s) of Mississippi at the Roosevelt Park on a balmy Sunday. It was first time for me and Indira at this prize sprawling facility remarkably free of pollen pollution because of the previous day’s hefty rain storms. Our thanks are for organizers and a host of volunteers who catered for a full day of variety menus from morning breakfast, lunch to ‘high tea time’ snacks. Despite several folks whom Indira and I already knew there were few with whom we made new friends. Several familiar faces were missing perhaps due to the semester-end routines. For me, as usual, every day is a learning or information experience, to know of the veracity of Vonage local, national and international telecommunication service as well as techniques for transferring video clippings to this web site using ‘flash’ files instead of ‘mpeg’ etc, which I am yet to try! If you have any bright ideas to address this issue I would appreciate your feedback. Our thanks go, not in any particular order, to and families of Veera Vasamsetti, Raghunath Reddy, Ravindra Reddy, Y Radha Krishna, Prasad Karavadi, Ugandhar Adari, Loknath Polepalli, Krishna Prasad Madddali and Pramod Anugu for organizing a successful picnic for Telugus of MS. Indira and I appreciate the efforts taken by all of the attendees who were captured in the following photographs for contributing to the ‘whole some’ and pleasurable time we had. Some of the settings with young mothers trailing their toddler kids reminded us of Indira tracking every move of Ishu and Uma in such scenarios, over three decades back! I am sure that just as we could not make it to the last year’s picnic and in retrospect felt we missed a lot, those who could not make it today to the picnic will with hindsight, feel like wise. _ KR and Indira Rao (April 25, 2010)
