The surprising visit of VN Aditya to Jackson, MS for the past ten days confirmed the words in a Shakespearean drama “Veni, Vidi, Vici” meaning “I came, I saw, I conquered”. Tollywood Movie Celebrity, Director VN Aditya’s Visit to Jackson, MS from August 13th to 22nd was a brilliant success both with media and the groups of persons he conversed with collectively or singularly, vouchsafing the Shakespearean words!
VN Aditya’s media appearance at WAPT, Ch16 ABC affiliate was undeniably an accomplishment with the media staff in attendance to watch and hear the recorded interview at the TV Station,. Similarly, the “mid-day MS” show on WLBT, Ch 3 NBC affiliate was unmistakably one of the best ‘solo’ interviews I attended at this TV station during the past two-decades . The popular radio ‘talk show’ host of WYAB 103.9 FM had himself mentioned on the ‘air’ that my appearances on this program excelled all of the others during the past two decades. VN Aditya’s talk on the air elaborating Jackson, MS as a cradle between Memphis, TN on the North and New Orleans, LA in the South for “Pop, Blues and Jazz” music in the heartland of the US mid-South was immensely appreciated by the talk-show host. Perhaps Aditya was the first Tollywood Movie celebrity to visit Jackson which was apparent from the enthralling article covering the interview with him by a Clarion Ledger Newspaper Press reporter with a Press photographer in my ‘back yard park’ .
The theme that VN Aditya mentioned with TV, Newspaper and Radio Talk-show interviews that he came to Mississippi to “capture the soul of music in the heartland of the US mid-South” was resonated by the MS Governor Phil Bryant in his interview with VN Aditya who spoke for most of the time indicating his appreciation of Aditya’s visit to Jackson, MS .
In addition to all of the above media and MS Governor’s interviews with VN Aditya the most touching was ‘The Telugu Badi’ children entertaining him at the Mississippi Telugu Association function on August 15th. An impressive song orchestrated by the Ladies Forum of the MS Telugu Association is worthy of being included in any movie VN Aditya is contemplating in this part of the US! Solo dance, song and a group dance presented were entertaining. The plaque presented to him at this meeting inaugurating Telugu Badi for the academic year 2015 -2016, and his talk to the audience remain hallmarks of this function in addition to the short notice home-cooked dinner organized in his honor.
VN Aditya took time to visit MS Film Studio at Canton, Nissan Auto Assembly Plant Tour, Millsaps College Campus and grounds including Gandhi Statue, Agricultural Museum including Model Railroad display and Digital e-Media center at JSU. Pictures of his activities during this week can be viewed at our website www.krrao.net.
VN Aditya’s one-to-one meetings were a significant contribution of his visit to Jackson, MS. My thanks go to those who afforded time to “meet and greet” at the “meet and greet” function organized by the Telugu Association of MS. Thus, my thanks go to the organizers of the Telugu Association of MS and all of you who attended this welcome function at Jackson, MS that opened the portals of his stay at Jackson, MS for any English and Telugu Feature and Full-length Movies he is contemplating to shoot in this part of the US. I have to personally apologize to some of you who could not meet VN Aditya since we were constrained by a single ‘open-week-end’.
The visit of VN Aditya to Jackson was primarily for making sure of the locational assets and ‘talent search’ for filming movies he has in mind. He has given me the impression that he feels the expectations he targeted can be met!
