Exactly two months ago in June of 2009, we hosted a potluck lunch with a musical extravaganza in our back yard park. It was a grand success with one hundred and fifty people attending and contributing to the food items.
The high light of the party was the music played and sung by our friends in the community. The show was orchestrated by Dr Rushi Mehta,and Urmila Mota supported by Geeta Mehta and Ravi Nimma. There were more participants to the singing group than last year. Realizing the fact that the singers are none other than from our Jackson community makes every one feel proud of our talent.
A reporter from the Clarion Ledger came to cover the local Indian community and interviewed several of the attendees. He gave his report to the press which appeared on front page of June 19th Clarion ledger.
Mr Santosh Pandey who suffered a stroke ten days prior to the event came to be amongst us in a wheel chair. Every one was happy to see him. Hope he has recovered completely by now.
Among the items lost and found was a key and a lawn chair and their pictures are included in the website. Please call and claim your items. We were hoping those who had missed these items would have contacted us.
Since we were swept away with different commitments we could not post the pictures on this web page any earlier. Hope you will enjoy the memories looking at them
Finally let me thank every one who attended the party for their presence, company and food items. Let us have many more such events in the future!
