During May 2010, our temple in Jackson celebrated Maha Kumbhabhishekam and installation of various Gods in the new temple. Since the Moorthies had to be moved from the old temple to the new temple there were three day rituals followed from May 13 to 15, 2010 and called it "BALALAYAM". Five priests came from Memphis and joined our priests in performing the rituals. The procedure involved transferring of power from the Gods to brass vessels called "Kalasas". Once this was done the daily prayers were offerred to the kalasas and the moorthies were moved to the new temple.
Majority of us have never seen a new temple inauguration in India, but we were fortunate to see what goes in to making a new temple and installing Gods.
