June 25 to July 1, 2016: We went to Charlotte, NC for one week sponsored by ASME for KR to attend Energy Conference. We stayed in Westin Hotel and the conference was held in the nearby Conference Center. This was my first visit to the city. While KR was busy in Conference, I explored down town and found a guided city tour to view the city. Trhere was anothe couple from Canada in the tour bus. The city appeared very updated and neat. Same time Prema and Tarun live in nearby Fort Mill, South Canrolina about half hour drive from our hotel. Tarun called and asked us visit their home for dinner. His father who was 89 years just arrived in Charlotte one day before. Prema and Tarun came to the hotel to collect us and took us to their home. We saw their two sons and two dogs imported from Germany, Tarun's father, spent a few hours, had dinner and returned to the hotel. One evening we went to see the NASCAR hall of fame for a reception. Tarun called us on Thursday and asked us to visit them for dinner and he collected us after his work. We had dinner together and Tarun, and Prema drove us to show their office and then dropped us back at the hotel. It was a nice trip though KR was disappointed with the quality of the conference.
