Subject: Back yard “Park-Parties” on Saturday June 6th & Sunday June 7th 2015.
It has been perhaps next best park party we had since 2008 when over 135 persons, and even Clarion Ledger reporter interviewed the attendees. We called it a “musical extravaganza!” That was a bit too much to handle and we decided that this year we will have in two separate groups.
Theme of this social get-together in either case was, in addition to “pot-luck-lunch” to have a 2-hour local talent musical program.
The musical renderings on June 6th were of Dr. Girish and Rani Pannicker(s). Mr. Ravi Nimma, and Mrs. Kala Sarada. On June 7th it is gratifying to note that Ramesh Madalli made it a lively and smooth flowing afternoon permitting all of the attendees an interacting role. Our appreciation is for Sreedevi Maddali recognizing several new comers for this annual get-together. Individual entertainments of Satyam Vasireddy, Sandeep Mamidenna, Prasad Karavadi, Vijay Kumar Katakam, Hanumantha Rao, Sobha Kondabathini, Ramana Yarlgadda, Venkat Pendurthi, Anupama Seetharam, Vijay Sankaran, Apoorva Mamidenna and Shreya Maddali made our post lunch stay captivating. Group enactment of youngsters under the stewardship of Sobha Kondabathini was fascinating.
We appreciate every one attending the two-day-back-to-back get-together for pot-luck lunch with entertainments ranging from musical renderings, mono-actions, anecdotal narratives and thought provoking group discussions. It would have been much nicer if we had several more participant songs reflecting the languages of the attendees such as Maharashtra and Gujarati, although we did have Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil songs.
As we mentioned we hope to repeat this “annual feature” and God willing with favorable weather we will have them during the last week-end of May or first week-end of June 2016.
